What a crewneck gives you that a hoodie doesn't

The reason to pick a crewneck over a hoodie is almost entirely about what isn't in the way.

No pocket, no hood, no obstruction

A hoodie's kangaroo pocket seam sets a hard floor on how low a design can go, and the hood bunches at the neckline. A crewneck has neither, so the chest is one uninterrupted area and a design can sit lower and wider than the same artwork could on a hoodie.

Heavier fleece, more nap

Sweatshirt fleece is thicker and fuzzier than jersey. Ink sits into a raised surface rather than on a smooth one, so fine detail softens slightly compared with the same print on a tee. It's a small difference, but it argues for heavier strokes and larger type.

Ribbing marks the edges of the canvas

The ribbed collar and cuffs are a different, denser knit and they don't lie in the same plane as the body. They're not print surfaces, and they visually frame the chest — which is useful, because it means a design centred in the body reads as deliberately placed rather than floating.

Sweatshirt mockup questions

Is the sweatshirt mockup generator free?

Yes — a 1200px PNG per colour and a .zip of all six, with no watermark, no signup and no email wall. HD at 2048px is a one-time unlock rather than a recurring charge.

What's the difference from the hoodie mockup?

The obstructions. A crewneck has no hood and no front pocket, so the chest is one clean area and a design can go lower and wider. On a hoodie the pocket seam sets a floor and the hood bunches at the neck — the same artwork has to sit higher and tighter.

Does fleece change how a print looks?

Slightly. Sweatshirt fleece is thicker with more surface nap than jersey, so ink sits into a raised texture and fine detail softens a little. Heavier strokes and larger type close the gap; hairline work is where you'll notice it.

Can I print on the ribbed collar or cuffs?

No. The ribbing is a denser knit that sits in a different plane from the body, and printing across it gives an uneven, cracked result. Treat the ribbing as the frame around your canvas rather than part of it.
