A polo is a badge garment, not a canvas
Everything that makes a polo a polo — the collar, the placket, the office context — shrinks the design down to a badge. Plan for that from the start.
The smallest apparel area in this tool
The polo's design area is the smallest of any garment here: a compact, slightly wider-than-tall rectangle on the chest. A full-front graphic that fills a t-shirt has nowhere to go on a polo. If your design only works large, a polo is the wrong garment for it.
The placket is in the way
The button placket runs down the centre front, so a genuinely centred design lands on buttons and a seam. Chest marks on polos sit to one side of the placket for that reason — and once you commit to that, the mark has to work asymmetrically, which many logos do not.
Polos are usually stitched, not printed
Uniform and club polos are overwhelmingly embroidered. Embroidery cannot reproduce gradients, drop shadows, hairline rules or type below a certain size — a thread has a minimum width. Get a stitch-friendly version of your mark before you promise a customer their logo on a polo.

Is the polo mockup generator free?

Where does the mark go on the polo?
In the chest badge area to the side of the placket, which is where uniform embroidery actually goes. The tool keeps your design inside that region rather than letting it drift across the collar, the buttons or the sleeves.
Why is the polo print area so much smaller than a t-shirt's?
Because a polo isn't a canvas garment. The collar takes the top of the chest, the placket splits the centre, and convention puts a small badge on one side. It's the smallest garment area in this tool, and that reflects how polos are actually decorated.
Will my logo embroider the way it looks here?
Not necessarily. This preview is a flat print. Embroidery has a minimum stitch width, so hairlines, tiny type, gradients and soft shadows all have to be redrawn or dropped. Send your embroiderer the vector and ask for a stitch proof before you commit.
Can I use these polo mockups for client work?
