Stickers are cut, not just printed
The thing that makes a sticker a sticker is the cut line, and the cut line is what most first-time sticker designs get wrong.
The white border is part of the product
That thin white edge around the sticker isn't a mockup artefact — it's how die-cut stickers are made, with the cut falling just outside the artwork. It reads as a deliberate outline on the finished product, so design with it in mind rather than being surprised by it.
Cutting has tolerance, so leave safe margin
A die or plotter blade doesn't land in exactly the same place on every sticker in a run. That's why printers ask for a bleed outside the cut line and a safe margin inside it. Artwork that runs right up to the edge will be trimmed unevenly across a batch — visibly so once you have a hundred of them.
A square face, and a background you don't control
The sticker face here is a true square, so square artwork drops straight in. But the surface underneath changes everything about how it reads: a design with a light background disappears on kraft and pops on concrete. Shoot the same design on more than one scene before you pick the listing image.

Is the sticker mockup generator free?

Why are there five scenes and not six colours?
Because a sticker's variable isn't its own colour — it's what it's stuck to. The five options are surfaces: wood, kraft, concrete, a notebook cover and plain. It's the only category in this tool where the swatches change the context rather than the product.
What's the white border around the sticker?
It's the die-cut edge. The cut falls just outside the printed artwork, which leaves a thin white outline on the finished sticker. It's a real feature of the product rather than something the mockup added, so factor it into the design.
How much safe margin does a sticker need?
Ask your printer for their figure and respect it. Cutting has mechanical tolerance, so the blade won't land identically on every sticker in a run. Artwork pushed right to the cut line gets trimmed unevenly across a batch, which is obvious once you have a stack of them.
Can I sell stickers made with these mockups?
Yes — listings, pack shots, ads and client work, commercially and with no attribution. The blank sticker scenes themselves can't be redistributed as stock assets or inside a competing generator. The image license spells it out.
