Screely is gone — check where you are pasting screenshots
Screely was for years the standard free way to wrap a screenshot in a browser window. It no longer exists at its old address: as of this check, screely.com resolves to an unrelated gambling site with no connection to the original tool. Any roundup still linking to it has not been rechecked. Use Shots.so or Pika for browser frames instead, and generally: if a tool asks you to upload a screenshot, make sure the domain is still the tool you think it is.
What this site does, and what it doesn’t
Being straight about scope, since you are on a mockup site: freemockup.app does not do device screen mockups. It composites artwork onto physical products — t-shirts, mugs, tote bags, posters, book covers and about twenty more — for sellers who need listing images. The one overlap is the phone case mockup generator, which puts a design on the back of a phone, not a screenshot on the front. If you need a screenshot in a device frame, use one of the tools above; if you need a design on a product, we are a good stop.

How do I put a screenshot inside an iPhone frame for free?
Take the screenshot at the phone’s native resolution, open a device mockup tool, pick the matching model and upload. The tool scales and positions the image inside the frame for you. Two things to watch: use a screenshot from a device with the same aspect ratio as the frame you pick, or the image gets cropped or letterboxed; and export at 2x if the mockup will be seen on a retina screen, or the frame edges look soft.
Do free device mockups have watermarks?
It varies and it is worth checking per tool. Shots.so’s free static exports are reported to come out clean. Pika puts its branding on free exports — removing it is listed as a Pro feature on their own pricing page. AppLaunchpad does not publish its free-tier watermark policy on its landing page, so verify before you build a full App Store set around it. When a tool does not state a policy, assume there is a limit and check before you commit work to it.
